The internet has taken off and is literally in nearly every home in the world. It is no longer a novelty, but a vital part of our culture and life. It is the way we communicate, the way we learn, the way we shop, the way we do most things interpersonally. Now, whether or not you think that is a good thing, we who carry the light of Jesus should still be out there in the thick of it.
Unfortunately, one common practice by Christians is to scrimp and save and cut corners in order to be good stewards of God's money. Overall, that is a great idea. God has given us a certain amount of resources and we should be careful to use them wisely. But, often in the arena of the world wide web, that means that churches either don't spend the money to have a web page, or they spend little to nothing for a poorly done, never updated website. (Which may be worse than the absence of one!)
I have always strived for excellence in everything that I do. Our ministry's website was no exception. And I have continued to try to improve on that year after year. And I think I have. It is well presented, easy to use and even fun!
I got to the point eventually where I realized, "I could help people." I have been given the tools to help people get in and stay in the internet culture. I have a great computer with awesome software, and a basic knowledge of HTML and javascript. So, I began a site for a friend who has a recording studio. And thus was born basic web design & graphics.
I have done many more sites since then, and now offer affordable web hosting along with the design and maintenance service. I have also helped a fellow musician with some graphic design for a poster he wanted to do, and some logo design work. I have also done some training in HTML coding for a client who needed to be able to update their website often, without having to ask someone else to do it... (ME!) :-) I have even done some audio engineering and mastering. Converting old tapes to CDs and converting music to various digital file formats (MP3, AIFF, WAV, WindowsMedia, RealAudio, etc).
But the main idea behind BWD Graphics is: unfortunately, not a lot of people have money to do great websites, so they get "Joe Friend" to do it --- and well, it gets the info up there, but, usually it's not current, and not very nice to look at... so it ends up being a waste of time. That's where I can hopefully help. I can do it for a LOT cheaper than anyone else (I think) and give it the professional look and personal attention that makes it excellent.
I wanted to be able to offer a service that was professional and what you might expect from any web service you hire... except at a greatly reduced rate. The going rate for the custom web design and graphic design that I do is anywhere from $75/hr up to $200/hr!!! (See the pricing section for details on what you can expect from BWD.)

And coming soon to this website, a StoreFront where you can purchase several of the best graphic and design software available for a price that is comparable or LOWER than everywhere else on the net!
